Miami Children’s Hospital Research Training Program
In July the College developed a Research Training Program for the fellows and residents at Miami Children’s Hospital (MCH). The pilot program was developed in close consultation with the MCH Director of Education. Drs. Mark Williams, O. Dale Williams, Wasim Maziak, and Consuelo Beck-Sague led the customized tutorial. The intent of the program was to facilitate fellows’/residents’ ability to critically review the biomedical literature, participate in clinical research, and plan clinical studies. The research tutorial was delivered in five 90-minute sessions throughout a week. The program introduced the philosophy of science and the basic concepts, methods, and ethical issues in biomedical research.
