Lazaro Mesa, an undergraduate student conducting research in Dr. Deodutta Roy’s laboratory continues his winning streak of research awards. This month he received two research awards.
He won the 1st place in the oral presentation in the 2015 Annual Biomedical and Comparative Immunology Symposium at FIU, in which more than 200 participants from institutions, such as University of Pennsylvania, University of Alberta, University of Rochester, as well as a group of more than 35 undergraduates from the University of Puerto Rico – Arecibo attended.
In addition, STEM students from Florida International University, Palm Beach State College, Nova Southeastern University, Miami Dade College, Indian River State College, Florida Atlantic University, Barry University presented their research at Life Science South Florida Symposia. Lazaro Mesa was one of the eight FIU STEM students who presented their STEM research at this year’s Life Science South Florida STEM Symposia. Lazaro received 3rd place for his oral presentation at this Symposia.
