Earlier this year several individuals were recognized for their outstanding work during the 2014-2015 academic year. Students and field instructors were awarded for their performance. The award of Student Intern of the Year was given to students who represent the highest quality of performance and commitment in their field internships. Their achievements were recognized at the Phi Alpha Luncheon on April 11 at the Faculty Club.
Gloria Martinez, nominated by Lourdes Martin from NeighborhoodHelp, received the B.S.S.W. Intern of the Year recognition. Viviana Bermudez, nominated by Aned Roque-Willig from Miami Children’s Hospital, was the recipient of the M.S.W. award.
In addition, on May 15 at the May 15th Field Instructor Appreciation Breakfast, two amazing professionals who give so much of their time and energy to mentor and teach our students were recognized. Carla Green, M.S.W. ’07, ’08 from Homestead Hospital received the B.S.S.W. Field Instructor of the Year Award, while Maria Elena Fernandez, L.C.S.W., from Citrus Health Network received the M.S.W. Field Instructor of the Year award.
