President Obama signed a bill on Wednesday, Oct. 8 making the latest in a long line of changes to the Affordable Care Act. It’s the 14th update to the law that’s more commonly known as “Obamacare”–a law that impacts businesses of all sizes.
In order to help its membership and the local community better understand the Affordable Care Act, the Doral Business Council will host a panel of experts including FIU Stempel College faculty Timothy Page, in a discussion Tuesday, Oct.13, “The Affordable Care Act Is Here to Stay: Now What?”
The panel discussion will be presented by Kendall Regional Medical Center and moderated by longtime Miami Herald Health Care Policy Reporter Daniel Chang. The discussion will address the concerns of an audience of business owners and decision makers as well as health care providers and others interested in how the law will continue to affect them.
The Doral Business Council and Kendall Regional Medical Center are offering 20 FIU Stempel College students free admission on a first come, first served basis. To request your ticket, write to Peter.Jude@HCAHealthcare.com. Preference will be given to those students who are Department of Health Policy & Management majors and those who are currently enrolled in the department’s classes.
