On Monday, July 11, FIU Stempel College assistant professor in the Department of Epidemiology, Miguel Ángel Cano sat down with Univision Network news reporter and anchor, Lourdes Del Rio, to discuss the dangers of e-cigarettes. The interview aired as part of a segment on e-cigarette use during Despierta America, Hispanic America’s No. 1 morning show for 19 years, which enjoys a viewership of 839,000 across the nation.
During the conversation, Cano underscored the fact that surveys show that Hispanic adolescents are one of the largest groups e-cigarette users. He added that the long-term effects on e-cigarette smokers is still unknown.
