Stempel College and FIU Embrace have launched the faculty/staff mentor certification program!

On September 4, 2018, Stempel College launched the faculty/staff mentor certification program as a means of offering mentorship to FIU students with intellectual disabilities.

This program, which is funded by the US Department of Education, #P407A150068 and the University of Central Florida, provides targeted training to the mentors, as well as additional training to the mentees on receiving mentorship and being active and productive throughout the course of the program.

Shanna Burke, principal investigator (PI) and co-PI Nicole Attong, Director of FIU Embrace, will be leading the project's initiative for the next two academic cycles. They are joined by Stempel faculty and staff, who have also signed on to the program.
