Our Ph.D. program in Health Systems Research emphasizes public health policy analysis, health economics and health systems analysis. The Affordable Care Act created new policies and regulations that have demanded greater knowledge about how policy and practice changes influence population health and health system performance. There is growing need for policy experts trained in health systems research. With issues of cost containment, value-based care and building more resilient health systems, there is a growing demand for scientists trained in the areas of health policy, health economics and health systems research.
