Our Ph.D. in Public Health with a concentration in Epidemiology trains established public health researchers with a higher level of knowledge and professional skills that are necessary for applying epidemiological research methods to public health problems. Key research themes in the program include health disparities, Latino health, women’s health, LGBT health, tobacco control, HIV/AIDS and chronic disease risk factors.
Stempel College offers an academic and collegial community with faculty who have strong research portfolios, and who work collaboratively on interdisciplinary research as well as rich opportunities for doctoral students to gain research experience prior to their dissertation projects, including support for study design, questionnaire development, analyses, and manuscript writing.
