I was looking for something that wasn’t there yet,” Duenas said. “I understood that there was something that I wanted to be before I became a physician – and that is a leader.” Duenas’ mentor recommended the Master in Disaster Management at the Robert Stempel College of Public Health & Social Work, which teaches students the fundamental and practical skills needed when disasters strike.
